PROGRAMS

The only thing better than creating great advertising? Hanging out with other people who do it — and sometimes, learning a thing or two.

Monthly Luncheons/Programs: Good food, good networking, groovy presentations you can't live without.  Check out upcoming events.

From the Source AAF's Webinar Series: The American Advertising Federation's all-new exclusive web seminar series. It brings trade professionals directly to the desktops of AAF members through bi-monthly Webcasts exploring a wide variety of topics ranging from social media to diversity to legal issues in media. From the Source is available only to AAF members and is a completely free benefit of membership!.You can view archived presentations on the AAF website.

Parties: Oh yeah, we party. We usually do a couple of formal (as in, scheduled far in advance, with an admission price) soirées during the year, and about once a month we host a Hot Spot Happy Hour, where we all gather at the latest, coolest Austin hangout for drinks, snacks and shoptalk. Or a premiere party for "Mad Men" at the Alamo Drafthouse.  You get the drift.

CLUB ACHIEVEMENT

This is how we know that we're getting it right.

Our Board members and volunteers spend hundreds of hours planning programs, producing events, performing public service work and communicating with members and media. We document these efforts in annual Club Achievement Reports and share them with new Board members.

And because ad people are addicted to awards, we submit the reports to the regional and national Club Achievement competition. We don't like to brag, but, when competing against 250 clubs in the American Advertising Federation in the United States, here's how Austin has ranked:

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS

The Legal Legislative Committee tracks the important legislation being proposed by the Texas legislature and in Congress which has a direct impact on the advertising industry.  Court decisions which are changing the law in such critical areas as e-commerce, media liability for ad content, and online confidentiality are also monitored and brought to the attention of our members.

As the primary focus of this Committee is to serve as an informational conduit, presentations on a wide variety of topics are provided throughout the year including a monthly article featured on the Ad Fed website.

The Committee is actively recruiting members.  For further information please contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.
