Volunteer Opportunities
Help bridge the Digital Divide.
In this wired world computer literacy is nearly as important as basic literacy. AustinFree.Net provides free computer training at community
centers around Austin. Join Ad Fed volunteers from GSD&M, Go9 Media, The Statesman, Moximity.com, and St. Edwards University as we develop an
innovative marketing plan designed to reach low-income and underserved populations.
For more information visit www.austinfree.net or email publicserivce@austinadfed.com.
A Dating Service for Creatives and Non-Profits
AustinProBono.org is an innovative website that connects non-profits with marketing
creatives who want to Do. Good. Work.
Launched in June 2008, the website allows non-profits to contact marketing firms and ad agencies directly. Businesses indicate their availability
with a green/red light, and can choose which projects to take. By listing at APB.org, businesses can control the flood of pro-bono requests by
simply telling callers to apply through the website.
Join us in implementing a newly developed marketing plan by contacting publicservice@austinadfed.com. List your agency by visiting
www.AustinProBono.org.
APB.org is a joint project of the Ad Fed, Sentient Services, GSD&M, EnviroMedia, Greenlights for Non-Profits, Game Plan Marketing and Events and others.
Shattering Goals, Saving Lives:
Help the 2009 Hill Country Ride for AIDS Break Another Fundraising Record
The Ad Fed marketing team helped grow Ride donations from $186,000 to $637,000 in five years. Join us as we produce the Red Bike
guerilla campaign for the 2009 Ride. Over 80% of donations go to local AIDS service organizations dedicated to prevention, education
and direct support for families living with HIV/AIDS.
Leading trade publications Communication Arts and HOW International Design Annual featured the highly creative advertising
campaigns for the rides, thanks to inspired work by Ad Fed members The nFusion Group, EnviroMedia Social Marketing, Headgear
Creative, The MAD House, The Whitely Company, Clampitt Paper, CSI/Capital Spectrum, Horizon Printing, Lithoprint, Unisource,
and XPEDX San Antonio.

ADDY® Awards--The real reason* you're
in advertising
The ADDYs are our industry's largest and most competitive creative competition,
drawing 60,000 entries nationwide. Three times in recent years,
local Austin ADDY winners went on to earn national ADDYs second
in number only to New York City.
You got that right: larger, metropolitan advertising "meccas" like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Minneapolis have
been eating our dust when it comes to racking up prestigious ADDYs. Even our member-designed "Call for Entries" campaigns
routinely win Gold Austin and District 10 (regional) ADDYs.
We always need take-no-prisoners volunteers--mad creatives, Web-heads, PR sorcerers, heaven-sent printer reps, and account service
specialists who make the trains run on time. You bring the skills, we'll
find the right fit for them.
Become a part of Austin advertising's biggest and most important professional
and social event by emailing addys@austinadfed.com.
*Aside from the great hours
Grace your walls with art by those without walls.
Art From the Streets celebrated 16 years of giving help and hope to Austin's homeless with the November 2008 art sale. Two thousand
attendees bought $91,000 of art. The proceeds go directly to the artists. Through the annual show and sale of their work, homeless and
low-income artists earn money and self-respect.
Art From the Streets moved onto the big screen in 2005 with release of an award-winning, feature length documentary about the event. Check
out www.ArtFromTheStreets-themovie.com to view the trailer for this
moving film by Ad Fed member Layton Blaylock, Inferno Films.
