Advertising, production, planning, media, sound cool, sexy, even fun…. but are the industry people just making it LOOK that way, in essence just practicing their own magic and perpetuating the industry myth?

Come find out what your chosen field/passion is REALLY like at the Austin Ad Fed’s Job Shadow day, April 19, 2010.

NO REQUESTS AFTER APRIL 13, 2010 will be honored.

Participating Agencies, Media and Companies include Univision, Sanders-Wingo, The Screamer Co, Collider Media, among others.

We’ve all been through it… we study for a career in a given field, think we are prepared for what’s to come, and then WHAM – we realize that working in advertising, media and production is much more surprising (in every way) than we were led to believe.

The Austin Ad Fed’s Job Shadow day, on April 19, 2010, is YOUR chance to host Austin’s students, graduates or professionals who are considering a career in your field. It’s up to you to show them the very best (and perhaps warn them about the very worst) about your chosen field.

Yes, you are swamped, don’t have time, need your team’s undivided attention to the projects at hand, but think about it this way – this is YOUR chance to get a first-hand look at the talent which will be coming out of our community, and to snag the very best for yourself.

To host a few students, recent graduates or people considering a career in your field, please email diversity@austinadfed.com.

 3. Your company
 4. Areas where you could host shadowers and number of shadowers per area
 5. Phone number where you can be reached

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Austin Ad Fed helps endow several scholarships at the University of Texas at Austin, at Austin Community College and at Texas State University, San Marcos:

  • The Austin Advertising Federation Endowed Scholarship in Advertising at UT
  •  The Didi Stuart Endowed Scholarship in Visual Communications at ACC
  •  The Mike Nickless Scholarship for Excellence in Printing and Advertising at TSU
  •  The Carolyn Barkley Scholarship in Marketing and Advertising at TSU

Application for scholarships should be made at individual academic departments and/or the university offices of student financial aid.
