Summer Hiring
Wave, Promotions, at EnviroMedia Social Marketing
AUSTIN, Texas — A
media planning and buying director and recruits from a New York City ad agency
are the latest hires at EnviroMedia Social Marketing. “We have worked
hard to keep growing in a sluggish economy,” said EnviroMedia president and
co-founder Kevin Tuerff. “We’re fortunate to work for clients that have
continued to invest in promoting clean energy, a clean environment, and
fighting health threats like tobacco and obesity, and to support them we’re
expanding our team.”

Dee Anne Heath was named new director of media buying and planning, a recently created
position. Before EnviroMedia, Heath was the media account director at Hawthorne
Direct and media director at Kolar Advertising. She spent 12 years at GSD&M
and has taught Advanced Media Strategies at The University of Texas. Heath

Chris Carlberg and copywriter Justin Prichard returned to Austin after holding
similar jobs at DiMassimo Goldstein in New York. They’ve joined EnviroMedia’s
growing creative team, along with new interactive developer Lisa Cowan. Lisa
has more than 15 years of experience as an interactive developer and has worked
with EnviroMedia on environmental and public health projects.
Lani Kahn joined
EnviroMedia as the agency’s new traffic manager. She was the traffic manager at
T3 and Kolar Advertising. Sarah Hudgens joined the company as its new copy editor/proofreader. Sarah came from the
University of Texas Press, where she worked as a manuscript editor.
Account manager
Summer Latham joins EnviroMedia in September to work on, among other campaigns,
tobacco cessation for the Department of State Health Services. Latham comes
from Clarity Coverdale Fury in Minneapolis, where she served as the account
manager for Minnesota’s statewide tobacco cessation campaign. Summerlin Anderson-Cramer Miller
Three of
EnviroMedia’s account supervisors are moving up to new positions as EnviroMedia
expands. Melissa Anderson-Cramer, Heather Miller, and Talley Summerlin have
been promoted to account directors.

Zale Corporation
Selects GSD&M Idea City as Agency of Record
Partnership includes creative and media
efforts in the U.S. and Canada AUSTIN, TX – August 17, 2010 – Zale
Corporation, known as the leading specialty retailer of diamonds and other
jewelry products in North America, has selected GSD&M Idea City for its
U.S.-based media efforts and North American creative duties for the Zales,
Zales Outlet, Gordon’s Jewelers and Canada-based Mappins Jewellers and Peoples
brands.
In this capacity,
GSD&M Idea City is charged with elevating the Zale brand as well as helping
the retailer increase sales using online, T.V., print, radio and out-of-home
advertising efforts.

Idea City is a great fit for our advertising needs,” said Richard Lennox, chief

City Welcomes Carrie Hines
AUSTIN, TX —
July 29, 2010 — GSD&M Idea City announced this week the hire of Carrie
Hines as vice president, account director on the agency’s Popeyes Louisiana
Kitchen account. Hines brings to the position a profile of strong experience in
the casual dining, quick-service restaurant and spirits categories.
Hines comes to
GSD&M Idea City from Slingshot LLC of Dallas, where she held the title of
group account director and was responsible for a portfolio of accounts including
Joe’s Crab Shack and several Brown-Forman spirits brands including Finlandia
Vodka, Southern Comfort and Woodford Reserve. Prior to that, she held positions
at Publicis USA, Bates USA, and The Zimmerman Agency where she worked on brands
like Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Denny’s Restaurants, Wendy’s International
and Continental General Tire.
Hines brings more
than 12 years of expertise to the position and holds a B.A. in Communication
from Florida State University.

Launches Texas.gov
Texas’ official
website one of nation’s largest and most progressive
AUSTIN,
TX—Austin-based Door Number 3 announces the launch of Texas.gov, the official website of Texas—a
completely self-funded program provided at no cost to taxpayers.
The website
offers more than 1,000 different state, local, and higher education services,
allowing millions of Texans to interact with and connect to government
information, agencies, and services online. In 2009, Texas.gov had more than 18
million visits and financial transactions, collecting more than $3.8 billion on
behalf of participating entities. Texas.gov is also the first state government
website where user-generated input appears in real-time.

Advertising Federation Honors Southwest Airlines
10th District
presents Innovation and Leadership in Advertising Award
AUSTIN, TEXAS
(May 18, 2010)—James Edmund Datri, president and CEO of The American
Advertising Federation (AAF) presented AAF Tenth District’s highest honor of
leadership and innovation in advertising to Southwest Airlines and its
portfolio of agencies on May 12 in Austin. Dave Ridley, senior vice president,
Marketing and Revenue Management for Southwest Airlines, accepted the award at
a special dinner for 225 guests at GSD&M Idea City.
The Innovation
and Leadership in Advertising Award (ILA) recognizes Southwest Airlines and its
agencies for many years of inventive and effective advertising programs,
emphasizing excellence in Media Use, Employment in AAF District Ten, Diversity
and Creative Leadership.
In accepting the
award, Ridley said, “Wow, to follow behind AT&T, JC Penney and Walmart!
What an honor! On behalf of Southwest Airlines, we’re honored to be
recognized tonight. We could not have made this journey here without all
of agencies and partners who have helped made this possible. “

Airlines’ partner advertising agencies that shared in the award included:
