Austin Ad Fed - Just Ad People
Dear members and friends of the Austin Advertising Federation,

Well, here we are with our first newsletter of 2004! The Austin Ad Fed has been very busy lately and we came out of the chutes this year with a bang. I hope everyone has recovered from the ADDY® awards show. This year's show was one of the best yet and I want to personally thank all of this year's sponsors, entrants, and attendees. I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude to Liam Kernell and this year's ADDY® committee for putting on such a great show.

As always, we love to hear feedback from our members. If there's something you'd like to see in the next newsletter, please let us know! And, as always, if you have suggestions for content or articles, please send an email to news@austinadfed.com

Sincerely,

Mark R. Good
President, Austin Advertising Federation

PUBLIC SERVICE

Designer Sean Carnegie with wife Wendy, and Ride Director David Smith at the January Hill Country Ride for AIDS Kickoff Party

Austin Ad Fed Spins Fresh AIDS Ride Campaign
The Austin Advertising Federation launched a new public service campaign for the Hill Country Ride for AIDS in January. The campaign features a new logo and identity system, poster, direct mail, 16-page brochure, and website (www.hillcountryride.org). A PR campaign directed by Valerie Davis, Tuerff-Davis Enviromedia, placed the ride director on several morning news programs and lead to two newspaper stories. Donated display ads will soon appear in area magazines.

The print campaign was produced by Jeff Neely, nFusion, Larry McIntosh, The Mad House Advertising, and Megan Berryman, NourzAds. Sean Carnegie, Headgear Creative, designed all collateral with photographs by project co-chair Scott Van Osdol. Printing and paper are courtesy of The Whitley Company and Unisource Paper.

Last year Ad Fed members donated $1400 of the $300,000 raised. This year the club will field a team of a dozen riders in the April 24-25 tour, and host a Smoothie Party at the end of day one. Contact Coach Scott (sv@constant.com) to join the team or volunteer to help.

To learn more or to donate, visit www.hillcountryride.org and enter "Ad Fed" in the Search window.
