Why volunteer? Because it feels good to do good. Plus, you make new friends, you may learn some new skills, it looks great on a resume, and you'll make your Momma proud.
For years, the Austin Ad Fed has channeled the talents and energies of our members toward giving back to the community. We currently provide volunteers, marketing and advertising support for AustinFreedotNet, The Hill Country Ride for AIDS and AustinProBonodotorg.
As a direct result of Ad Fed volunteer efforts, our non-profit clients have seen substantial increases in revenue and recognition. The Hill Country Ride for AIDS has grown from $186,000 to $697,000 in six short years, thanks to brilliant pro-bono campaign produced by Ad Fed members nFusion, The Whitley Company, and Clampitt Paper. Their good work won 11 Austin and District ADDYs in 2009.
So, yeah, you get a little something back when you give it away.
It's also a great way for students and newbies to build their reputations and portfolios. We always need sharp, energetic, and fun ad folks (meaning you) to lend their energy and expertise to our public service projects.
