DIGITAL AND DESIGN
Bobby C. Martin, Jr., Founding Partner, The Original Champions of Design
Bobby Martin guides culture and sets the relentless standard of design and vision for the firm. Since founding the company, with Jennifer Kinon in 2010, he has partnered with a wide range of clients such as The Atlantic, Dartmouth, Girl Scouts of the USA, MTV, NBA, The New York Times and The Studio Museum in Harlem.
He has lectured on the role of brand identity systems around the world and has been a special guest on Design Matters and Studio 360. Bobby Martin is a board member of the Type Directors Club and served on the board of AIGA/NY. He was also recently named one of the Most Creative People in Business by Fast Company and has won numerous international awards from the AIGA, Art Directors Club, Communication Arts, D&AD, and the Type Directors Club, among others.
Fidel Peña, Creative Director, Underline Studio
Fidel is a creative director and co-founder of Underline Studio. His projects at Underline have included identity and branding for the University of Toronto, the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Universities Canada and campaigns and publications for Google, UNHCR The UN Refugee Agency, Audi and the National Gallery of Canada. Fidel’s work has received numerous accolades from across Canada, the US and Europe, including from Communication Arts, the Type Directors Club, Laus, the Art Directors Club, Graphis, and D&AD, and he has lectured on design topics in Spain, Mexico and Canada. He was born in El Salvador, is the former president of the Advertising and Design Club of Canada and is currently a board member of Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art.
Dave Ortega, Creative Director, McKee Wallwork + Co
An alumnus of Ogilvy & Mather and DraftFCBs, Dave Ortega is Creative Director of McKee Wallwork + Co. He has lead the agency to win Advertising Age’s SW Agency of the Year—twice, Advertising Age’s Best B2B Campaign of the Year, and Advertising Age’s Place to Work—also twice. You’d think the man would be exhausted, but his limitless drive to find solutions for his clients through the amalgamation of science, technology and art keeps him going full-speed. When he does slow down, it’s to spend time refueling with his wife and son.
Lewis Williams, CCO, Burrell Communications
Recognized as one of Adweek’s 2018 Creative 100, Lewis is a passionate, award winning creative leader and storyteller. During his career he has created work for major brands such as Google, McDonald’s, Walmart, Toyota, Comcast, Coca-Cola, American Airlines, Coca-Cola, Budweiser, Walt Disney World, Walmart, Allstate, Miller Lite and Comcast.
Lewis has had the honor of serving on the jury of prestigious creative award shows as The International Andy Awards, The One Show and The Communication Arts Advertising Competition.
After spending much of his successful career at Leo Burnett/Chicago he is presently Chief Creative Officer of Burrell Communications.
Thomas Kemeny, Author and Copywriter, NYC
Thomas Kemeny is the author of the advertising book JUNIOR. He is also a copywriter based in New York City and sometimes elsewhere if the weather is right. He began as an intern at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, and over the next decade learned everything he could at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and Mother New York, before offering his services for hire for agencies and clients as a freelancer under the ridiculous banner of Kemeny Interglobal Corp.
He’s won awards in The One Show, Cannes Lions and Clio Awards. He’s created campaigns for everything from Fortune 500 companies to startups. His work has been discussed in the New York Times, NPR, Vanity Fair and a monologue on The Tonight Show. He has an equally impressive list of failures.
Sierra Sutton, Senior Writer, Brighthouse
Sierra Sutton is a Senior Writer at BrightHouse, a global creative consultancy and independent division of The Boston Consulting Group, where she helps brands around the world define and activate their Purpose. She has written for a British fashion icon, a national grocery retailer, an intrepid outdoor brand, AI pioneers, and global energy enterprises. Before her work at BrightHouse she studied creative advertising and psychology at Southern Methodist University and interned at several Dallas agencies. Sierra, a true Texan, currently lives in Atlanta where she judges its lack of tex-mex with her fiancé and four cats. And yes, four cats is a lot of cats.
Jaime Villalva, Associate Creative Director, Droga 5
Jaime has worked with some of advertising’s biggest legends. Both real and fictional. He has had the privilege of stepping into the shoes of Burger King, Chester Cheetah, The Orbit Girl, Jack Box and Brad Bellflower. Yeah, Life found a way and he got to meet Jeff Goldblum. Jaime started at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and is now ACD at Droga 5. His most recent work has been the upside down Whopper. He grew up in Cd. Juárez, which used to be the most dangerous city in the world.
