Speaker #1: James Hughes
James Hughes is a senior associate in the Austin office of Norton Rose Fulbright. He advises clients on both day-to-day legal questions and litigation. He has been involved in the full lifecycle of numerous disputes, from pre-suit negotiations, initial pleadings, discovery, motion practice, judgment, appeal, and settlement.
James has litigated commercial and employment contracts, theft of trade secrets, patents and trademarks, wrongful-termination claims, and other areas of law.While acting as a prosecutor in the attorney-loan program with the City of Austin, James first-chaired five criminal-misdemeanor trials, successfully obtaining guilty verdicts in every trial.
Speaker #2: Paula Pierce
Paula is an honors graduate of Trinity University, San Antonio and South Texas College of Law, Houston. She served as briefing attorney to Texas Supreme Court Justice James P. Wallace in 1986-87.
For 15 years, she was a Managing Attorney at Texas Legal Services Center where she managed a variety of legal aid projects including a program that assisted identity theft victims with the recovery process. She is a frequent speaker and writer on identity theft.
Speaker #3: Tim Hayden
Tim Hayden has two decades of experience leading high growth technology firms and marketing agencies. Before Brain+Trust Partners, he headed marketing at Zignal Labs, a real-time media intelligence platform. He is also former head of the Mobile program at Edelman Digital in North America.
Tim has served as a catalyst for transformational change in some of the world’s leading brands, including Dell Technologies, Bacardi USA, McDonald’s, Shell Oil, Hilton Worldwide, Kraft Foods, and Walmart.
He is co-author of The Mobile Commerce Revolution (QUE Biz Tech, October 2014), lives in Austin with his wife and son, hasn’t owned a car since 2003, and sits on the boards of directors of I Live Here I Give Here and the Red Cross Serving Central and South Texas.
