UX Writer

Overview: Collaborate with a creative marketing UX team to support enterprise sales applications

Location: Work from home in Texas, Austin area preferred

Compensation: Based on 4-10 years of experience.

Hours/Duration: Full-time schedule, originally budgeted for 14 months with likely ongoing employment

Liaison Creative + Marketing is hiring a Texas-based UX Writer to join our team supporting our high tech corporate client to update and improve their sales applications. Our corporate client, based in Round Rock, is a leader in eCommerce and enterprise, consumer, and small-business PC technology and infrastructure. As a member of our team embedded with our client company, you’ll collaborate on the day-to-day UX projects that bring new features and functionality to improve sales applications on their main eCommerce site, one of the leading online stores globally. This ongoing position starts with an initial 14-month assignment, likely to extend indefinitely. This is a good for a high-tech savvy copywriter with UX knowledge and an interest in leveraging 4-10 years of professional experience in a collaborative role.

  • Collaborate with product design teams to craft intuitive, actionable, and easy-to-understand user experiences by creating short- and long-form content strategy for the client’s customer-facing digital properties and the company’s internal digital channels and tools. This includes UI microcopy and copy, instructional content, and other elements of the end-to-end user experience for website and app journeys
  • Ensure compliance with brand, voice and tone, and style guidance to sustain consistent experiences throughout the client’s external and internal digital products and channels
  • Contribute to the development and iteration of content and content strategy standards, best practices, and processes through quantitative and qualitative testing and analysis of corporate experiences as well as remaining current on developments in the UX writing and content strategy disciplines outside the client
  • Act as a full participant during the intake process for new projects with an understanding of complex business and technology goals and constraints
  • After envisioning appropriate design solutions, present concepts to design and business stakeholders, adapt based on feedback, and remain open to continuous iteration of content experiences based on data and other forms of feedback as well as evolving business goals

How to be a top candidate for this job:

  • A web-based writing portfolio that showcases your writing and content strategy work from your professional experience and contains examples from digital projects like large-scale websites or software applications (while our general application interface can accept them, please do not include links to download sites, google drive, or attachments. Only web-based portfolios can be considered)
  • Undergraduate degree and 4-10 years relevant experience
  • Experience authoring UI content is a plus
  • Experience with help/educational content is a plus
  • Experience authoring UI content is a plus
  • While this role is remote for the near term, we are only considering Texas-based candidates, with a strong preference for the Austin-Round Rock Area. Skills:

  • Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation skills with extraordinary attention to detail that includes superior editing and proofreading skills and advanced knowledge of industry-standard style guides such as AP Stylebook or Microsoft Writing Style Guide
  • Demonstrable professional experience crafting digital UX journeys, including writing for different use-case scenarios on complex digital products such as global websites or major software applications, and applying consistent style, brand, and voice/tone across multiple communication channels and products
  • Ability to identify critical insights through analysis of quantitative and qualitative data or trendspotting, and to organize them into actionable strategies and tactics that can scale across multiple communications and technology disciplines
  • Ability to effectively project-manage and juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative, deadline-driven environment
